TODDVILLE (KWWL) -- Linn County archers had more than an archery target Saturday. They were also aiming for a cure to children's cancer. The Waltonian Archers Club provided the course, and people brought their bows and arrows and paid to shoot. "Aim for a Cure" is a non-profit organization started by an Alburnett family who lost a son to cancer. "There's a lot more to it than people understand. The driving back and forth, the phone calls to the family; we were blessed because we were only 45 minutes away from there. There are families clear across the country, sometimes from around the world that come there for cancer treatment," Aim for the Cure founder Steve Ries said. Proceeds will go toward the University of Iowa Children's Hospital's research programs and other supplements the families may need. The fundraiser's goal was to raise more than $2 thousand.
